This house belongs to someone who collects. Pictures hang in dense rows, books stack up on every shelf, and among them a globe, a red-framed mirror, a round stained-glass window. None of it came from a catalogue. If you want a neutral holiday flat, this is the wrong one; if you like rooms somebody has actually lived in, it is the right one.

The deck

The real living room is outside: a large timber deck above the slope, looking over the treetops along the whole length of the lake. White chairs, a table in the shade, and a little further on a pergola with a laid table under leaf-light.

Living and cooking

Inside, a bright living room with a sofa and armchairs, floor-length doors to the deck and a desk of its own. The white kitchen is fully equipped, with an oven, a bean-to-cup coffee machine and crockery for more than three.

Sleeping and bathing

One bedroom with a double bed and a window onto greenery, plus an additional bed – up to three guests in all. The bathroom is new, with a level-access shower and a large mirror.

Good to know

Washing machine and dryer are provided, as is air conditioning. Free parking on the grounds. Pets are welcome. No minimum stay. The setting is quiet and steep – a car helps here.
